Human Wellbeing
Major Investigation

Year 9-10 Geography, Term 3 Week 1

The attached document is your major summative assignment for this unit. Please print it out and read through it, familiarising yourself with the requirements, learning intentions, and assessment rubric. Note down any questions you might have. This week I would like you to do the following:

  1. Go to the ACBM website and navigate to the section on ‘mission areas’. https://acbm.org.au/directory-acbm_directo/categoriesacbm-areas
  2. Browse through the listed countries. Think about which country you would be interested in investigating. NOTE some of the countries listed are not ‘developing’ (third world) countries – e.g. Hong Kong, Taiwan – you may not choose one of these. Choose only from the list on the assignment sheet.
  3. If you already know which country you’d like to choose, email me and nominate.
  4. Make a start on the questions in Steps 2 & 3 from the assignment sheet. If you’re not able to use internet/computer much at home, handwritten notes are fine for now - you don’t necessarily need internet for the first five questions.
  5. Now would also be a good time to catch up on any unfinished work from last term! The box below contains details of the things you should have finished.
